Sons cannot be uprooted
and elsewhere replanted
old parents need care
Their presence
is of essence
the ‘wise’ have decreed
What about daughters
pulled out
roots cut
replanted without thought
Who cares for orphaned parents
in their absence
The ‘wise’ have an answer
for what’s unjust:
‘Pointless, this argument
men matter, women don’t
so say everyone
even the court!’

What kind of stunned me, is we both thought of the tree for comparison.. (freedom in my case, and rootedness in yours)..Crazy coincidence?

Can’t change minds set in stone. Doesn’t help when the younger ones are brainwashed into thinking that this is normal, hence keeping the cycle and making it harder to change it.
True that.
Even after seeing girl children taking care of parents, the parents’ attitude never change. Even in my family, a girl is going to have a baby in a couple of weeks. She is fed up of hearing many ‘women’ blessing her with a male baby!
I can imagine what she must be facing. I see it happening around me too..
Disgusted. in this day and age. but then again, i wouldn’t really want to be married to someone who thinks boys parents need more care than a girls parents ..That divorce would be a blessing in disguise.
Totally with you on this. And yes, divorce would be a blessing.
really disappointed with the judgement 😦 It seems like, inspite of all the talking about gender equality, the people who can actually make a significant difference don’t want to do much about it
