I do not like Jerry. That mouse is always annoying Tom and getting him into trouble. True, Tom annoys Jerry too, and puts out all kinds of traps to catch Jerry. But theirs is never an equal fight. Jerry wins always and in the process Tom gets smashed up, flattened, kneaded into impossible shapes, sent shooting into space only to crash land, gets his coat burnt, is chased by the dog, scolded by his mistress.

You see what I mean?

Tom is bested by everyone around him. Sometimes even the alley cats. Poor cat. I feel for him. Each time that Jerry wins I want to promptly send Tom a message. Come over to my home, Tom! There are no Jerrys here to bother you. We’ll live happily ever after. Meow!

Oh yes, I know Tom and Jerry are friends and that Tom cannot really be happy without his friend and their incessant waging of war against each other. At least that’s what the makers of the show tell us. Or… Wait! That’s what they want us to believe! So, no. I am not buying any of that.

Jerry is a super tease who is too big for his boots. My opinion probably goes against the popular one held by Tom and Jerry watchers, I bet. That doesn’t matter. Any pipsqueak mouse that beats up Tom has me to deal with. Er.. umm.. by that I mean all mouse related issues shall be dealt with by the L&M while I wait it out with Tom behind closed doors.

The second of the Jerry of the Jerry And Jerry in the title of the post is someone I would really love to welcome into my home. But he lives in far away Bhuvaneshwar where I met him while on a walk. That Jerry is a Golden Retriever and lives in the same apartment complex as my brother and sister in law.

Jerry the Golden Retriever is a huge fan of my brother. Whenever he sees my brother in the park Jerry drags his owner to go meet him. Jerry goes mad with delight as does my brother who loves all dogs. Yes, it runs in the family. All of us siblings are big time dog lovers.

I had heard so much about Jerry that I was eager to meet him on my visit. As luck would have it, the very first day I went out for a walk in the evening with mother, who should I see other than Jerry? There was no one to introduce us. But that didn’t matter to Jerry. He was all over me.

Jerry is a crowd puller. And as a golden retriever, Jerry loves humans too. He is always on the look out for more people who can give him scritchies and make him a friend. So even as he was jumping around licking me and getting his share of scritchies, he’d pause and take a step back to see if whoever was passing wanted to join the party. He didn’t want to lose potential fans by concentrating on just one!

Here’s the second Jerry with the L&M.
