Tapping the sides
of my full heart
making space
to fit in some more
piles of hurt
and bundles of indifference
storing them away
from sightless eyes
that seek to see
but cannot perceive
pushing down contents
that threaten to spill
tap-tap-tap
once again I try
freeing a little more space
in a congested heart,
for who knows
what tomorrows bringβ¦

Shailji, you speak for me. I am still learning to let go without congesting my heart with piles of hurt or bundles of indifference…It is a very difficult lesson to grasp.
@Rashmi,
It is indeed π
And somehow, there is always a little more space, isn’t there? Loved the imagery.
@Agnija Bharathi,
Thank you. Yes there always is, elastic heart. Hmm… that gives me an idea to write another one π
Just stash them in a WASTE BIN and see that the bin is kept far away from the heart and far far away from the memory machine :)Brings in laughter and sunshine .
One of my evolving resolutions is to give no space in my heart for those piles of hurt and bundles of indifference .
As you said Shail , don’t know what tomorrow will bring π
@Krishnaleela,
Yeah we don’t know about tomorrow π
At this rate you’ll need more than one heart
your hurts and frustrations you’ll have to learn to part
and the sooner it is, will make you better and smart
if you have still not learnt this simple art
I think it is time for you to start.
Shail, good one. Shaking up the heart to make more space for the hurt and indifferences.Don’t we do it all the time. π
@Govind,
Yep, I think it is universal π
wow! that was so beautiful!! π lovely, u do it so effortlessly, they seem to cascade down. was just reading the one above, the petal, sepal one, trickled down and came to this one, and my was washed over by a sense of being taken over by…words! π
@vaidegi j,
Thank you for that unstinting appreciation π
