…..with an entry for the 3 Word Wednesday as well
The crow
On the oleander
the lone crow
in loud tones caws
persuasive in its insistence
of imminent company
hopefully
also heralding
riches of camaraderie.

Prompt words for 3WW CCXXXIV: persuasive, loud, riches

If the cawing is suggesting
that someone might come visiting
I think it is time to do my packing
and though you have been inviting
I am a little wary of accepting,
because of all my commenting
I expect some sound thrashing.
π The balcony looked very familiar and then I realized that it resembles my house. There is also a crow that comes visiting and ‘calls’ my wife at exactly the same time everyday. π
@Govind,
You better wear an armor then! π BTW, that is the balcony of the house opposite π
Beautiful picture Shail, and a lovely poem to go with it. We get assailed with hooded crows, magpies, ravens, jackdaws and jays; sometimes all together at one time. Sometimes they just ‘talk’, at other times they argue – that’s when I switch my hearing aid OFF!
@Altonian,
Very chatty, aren’t they?? π Thank you.
But it always happens – I get visitors when the crow caws…. π π
Do u remember 1 for joy, 2 for sorrow ????? π
@UmaS,
That’s what everyone says. But it has never happened with me π
Yeah I do remember the 1 for sorrow, 2 for joy rhyme! π
perfectly captured words and image!
@khadeeja,
Welcome to Shail’s Nest and thank you π
Good use of the three words Shail. Love the picture too.
@earlybird,
Thank you π
Very picturesque
@Sheilagh Lee,
Thanks π
Hi Shail,
I started laughing because this reminds me of the seagulls that call to one another before they come flying down to snatch the breadcrumbs that I toss to them.
Lovely photo!
Thanks for the visit π
@Ren,
Thank you π Your description of the seagulls brings a smile to my face too π
great poem. Really enjoyed the photo, too.
@ThomG,
Thank you π
Well written…!!
Here is my 3WW:
don’t be shocked, I can handle power tools
@gautami tripathy,
Thanks for dropping by π
The DMK and the AIDMK are now making LOUD PERSUASIVE appeals for votes, aided by accumulated ill-gotten RICHES.
While sparrows have already vanished, crows now seem to be vanishing these days in Bangalore.
My mom in law still follows the old custom.
She keeps a spoonful of freshly cooked rice on the compound wall of the house and calls out to the crow to partake first.
Nowadays we don’t wait for the crow.
It’s not practical unless we are willing to go hungry.
Nice picture.
Regards
GV
We still have crows in Kerala π
