When I go for my after-dinner stroll I end up making new friends. They are the kind who come out when it is dark to party beneath the bright lights of the electric lamps.
Some of them are shy and stick to the walls refusing to make eye contact. One needs a lot of patience when dealing with this kind. I saw one such in a pretty yellow dress with brown trimmings. Even after waiting for long, all I got to see was the same side and the same pose.

On the other hand there are those who dance around gleefully, showing off the bright colors they hide beneath their drab exterior. I met one such who dazzled me with the bright orange pattern of its wings as it pranced around. But when I fished out my phone and looked around, it was gone. Not about to give up, I searched high and low and tracked it down. But Fiery Wings (my name for it) held its wings close presenting only the drab version of itself. Though I shouldn’t have, after waiting for long and getting impatient, I gave it a gentle nudge so that it would show me the colorful orange side of its wings once again. Miffed, it quickly vanished into the night leaving me crestfallen.

There are some who are pushy by nature. They don’t wait for you to notice them but instead pounce scaring the sh*t out of you. Imagine one jumping on my bare arm while I was busy getting my six thousand five hundred and fifty sixth step. It was all I could do to not scream for I imagined it was raining lizards! It turned out to be someone else, a little feller with legs covered in designer leggings. So pretty. All was forgiven as it stood still while I clicked.

As a bonus, here’s a video.
I enjoy the way you have woven your observations into a delightful narrative.
