I am participating in the 30 Days Letter Challenge where you write one letter each day. The 15th in the list is a letter to ‘The person you miss the most’
Dear Person I Miss The Most,
Strike me pink if this hasn’t stumped me. It is all very well to be told to write to the person you miss the most. But WHO are you? What do I write to you? That I miss you? How obvious is that! But then when I don’t know who you are, how can I miss you? Perhaps you are the one because of whom I have been exiled for a thousand years? But then, that’s a story I made up, isn’t it? Or is it?!
Guess what? You can only miss that which has become an indelible part of you. Humans on the other hand are wholes unto themselves who are not willing to permeate into another or let others merge with them. So, I don’t think they are capable of missing anything except at a very superficial level. ‘I miss yous’ are dime a dozen and hardly mean anything much. Of course this is a Neptunian’s observation. In case I find I am wrong, I will rewrite this letter.
Hmm… I must say I thought the shortest letter of the series would be the one I sent to to those who caused me the most pain. But I just realized this one has just stolen first place.
Someone who misses no one.
