@Sandhya,
The sunlight was falling right on this plant, lighting it up, Sandhya π
Looks like a sparkling gold ornament!!!!
@indianhomemaker,
I was out with Luci, but ran for the camera, before the sun changed the direction of its rays π
Apt photo, clicked in time for Deepawali.
Looks like a tree illuminated for the occasion.
Half the skill in photography is choosing the proper subject and the exact time to click.
Modern sophisticated equipment will do the rest.
Congratulations on you doing your part well.

GV
@G Vishwanath,
I agree, the choice of subject is indeed a skill. Something that comes to mind each time I see Prerna’s photographs : http://prernasphotographs.com/
Thank you π
The long road ahead
so many families
in small side roads
living off it,
partaking off the
green and the air,
and the Good Earth,
resplendent
in the sun,
as they
share
ambitions,
strength,
the nourishing sap.
It matters not
in which land,
the road lies;
the unity,
the effort
and the sharing,
of those who live
will always ensure
them and theirs,
a place in the Sun.
@suranga,
Wow Suranaga, I love the gems you dish out inspired by photographs! π
you know what?
I thought it was a Diwali ka sparkler! its lovely and your photography is amazing! thinking of going professional?
@R’s Mom,
Now that you have said so, it reminds me of a sparkler too.
Hmm… I am glad to be taking pictures and posting them here. Professional? Never thought of it, though I would like a better camera π Thanks
Is this the common grass thingy.. Reminds me I got ot cut mine get ready for winters they are almost here …
beautiful picture
Bikram’s
@Bikram,
Yes, the same π You find them everywhere. This was a lone one standing with the sunlight on it π
Beautiful pic
@Prats,
Thanks π
That is such a beautiful capture, Shail!
@Smitha,
Thanks Smitha π
It really does look like gold… as IHM said!
@Aathira,
The morning sunlight and the half dried state makes it look so π
The sunlight on that plant makes all the difference. What’s behind that plant? Water or just land?
Destination Infinity
@Destination Infinity,
That’s dirt with pieces of rock and bricks, in the shadow.
Oh wow! I’m surprised it’s not a mixture of green/gold. Never seen anything like it! You should send this to some magazine π
@Bhagwad Jal Park,
If you notice there is a greenish yellow tinge (its really green initially) to the stick in the centre. The tiny leaf like things are actually white when really fresh… and later take on a dried yellowish color.
Well, I have been trying to photograph this type of grass a few times… but never got a really good shot. This time with the sunlight, I got a good one π
Looks so lonely!
@Daddy Forever,
The friends are all on a different patch π
The play of light and the background playing its part as well… you know the moment I saw this, the word that came to my mind was “Chiaroscuro” … the play of light and shadow π π The plant is so suffused with the golden of the sunlight that it’s an utter beauty! Who needs green or colour? Or fulsome filling? Bony, bare, hardly worth a second look, till the sun looked upon it! And there it emerges, the Cinderella of the garden π
(I think I’v gone overboard, even for a comment from me, but I could not help it π Lol!)
PS. You’ve read this one on my blog… but I just revisited it to see if it made sense.. π I felt it did :D. Today!
http://questforheaven.blogspot.com/2008/12/chiaroscuro.html
@Usha,
I had a chance to re-visit your blog post π Yeah, it was a rare to have the plant at the right place and the ray on it at just the time when I stepped out. I was afraid the sun’s rays would shift by the time I returned with the camera π
Lol, such comment is expected of you Usha! π
That is such a pretty capture! It looks like a forest nymph’s wand. =)
@buckeroomama,
That sounds so cute! π
You need to have like buttons for the comments here π Love each of them π
@Usha,
Is that the FB effect speaking? π
Thts almost shining!
@Meena Menon,
Welcome to Shail’s Nest Meena π Thank you.

@Devika,
Thank you π
