Even as I was settling into the groove of September Musings, I had to take yet another break. And yes, it involved taking a flight yet again. A weekend at Yellowstone National Park with the First Born for company. Who can say no to that? You can bet anything that it will not be me. Oh no, no, no, no. Not ever.
For a tropical baby like me, it felt quite chilly being up there—brrr!—especially when the winds blew. But the well-insulated jackets helped. I did enjoy the bracing mountain air, though not so much the rotten-egg smell of the gases emanating from the geysers, or the fact that being at such an elevation had me gasping for air while going up inclines.
I am back, though, to sea level, to my walks, watching the ducks and geese, and other birds like bushtits and juncos. Also back to blogging. But exactly when I shall get around to writing about my Yellowstone experience in detail is a moot point. Considering that it took me all of two years to write about my Grand Canyon visit, I cannot really say when that will be. Maybe tomorrow, in a couple of days, or next week, or after landing in India and the jet lag has worn off, in a month, or… in two years.
For now, I am savouring the experience in my mind. The surreal and beautiful landscape of the park is an experience I shall forever carry with me…
Here are some pictures to drive home the point.

Lovely pictures – and best to savour the experience for a while.
Very impressive!
It has always been a dream of mine to go to Yellowstone. One, alas, I think is unlikely to be fulfilled now.
