November is here. It was raining still a couple of days back. Thunder and lightning adding drama to the days. And then, just like that, the rain stopped. Its only a brief respite before it returns to pour some more. The weather people have predicted more rain for us.
While we wait for the rains, the mornings as of now have turned extremely pleasant, with a cool breeze thrown in. The air smells fresh and clean. Perfect weather for walks.
Today morning a light mist added itself to the equation. I couldn’t ask for more. But, I was in a quandary. Do I stop and feast my eyes (and click pictures), or continue my morning walk?
The mist had turned the coconut trees, and other trees too, to pale versions of themselves. The apartment next door looked like a ghost-version of the original. The surroundings looked so ethereal.
This, my dears, is as far as it goes for what’s called ‘winter’ in these parts. True, it might get a couple of degrees colder in the nights, but thats the limit. The mist though is not guaranteed in the coming days, not in the city, only on the mountain tops and slopes.
Here the mist is a short term visitor. Here today gone tomorrow or the day after. That’s why I stopped my walk to click some pictures.

I enjoy the way mist alters one’s perception of the ordinary 🙂
So true! 🙂
Lovely photos.
Thank you, Mick 🙂

Ah this takes me back to life in Bangladesh where the ‘kuwasha’ would come down thickly overnight but be cleared and full of sunshine again by midday for almost all of winter except for just two weeks where the fog would stay down and the sun never got to penetrate. Those two weeks were always cold and damp but were blessed relief from the unrelenting heat for the rest of the year!
