Now that I am back home, I am feeling too lazy for any real writing. And yes, this is the same me who wrote posts while on my way and in the train, and also at the end of each day while in the hotel room. All of it done on my phone too.

It was fun revisiting the city where I went to college once upon a time. The surroundings have changed beyond recognition. Buildings and roads and walk ways are all new. But still I could pick out many of the old familiar spots too.

Though I could not meet some of my other college-mates who still live in the city, I was able to catch up with one.

Some people are born storytellers. I realised this listening to my friend’s husband. He had stories to tell about the place where their home is now. Apparently it was a lonely and quiet place with very few houses when they moved in. Now their house stands right next to an extremely busy road with honking vehicles moving this way and that non-stop.

I also got to hear first hand about a crime that happened nearby more than a quarter century ago. A young man was pushed off the top story of a hotel building for daring to fall in love with the owner’s daughter. I have seen the movie version of it, an investigative thriller, but never knew until then that it was based on a real life story. (In the movie it is a girl being flung off a roof, more box office value may be?)

On a different note, today is the First Born’s birthday. When we called up in the morning to wish him, just before leaving for the railway station for our return journey, he teased us that it was not his birthday yet in the US. It was the day here, so the wishes were on time as far as we were concerned, we told him. By the way, if you’d like to read about what his mom had to say about this young man some years back, you can check out the post titled ‘About the First Born’

And now for some pictures from the previous days.
