What bores you?
When I saw today’s prompt, I stopped short and said to myself, ‘Yup, this is what I am going to write about today!’
So here I am.
I have claimed on numerous occasions that I am not a person who is easily bored. I have lots of interests that occupy me. I can practice music for hours, or attempt new songs, on my keyboard, without ever wanting to get up. Well, the only thing that forces me to get up and move away is usually the back pain.
Then there’s writing, reading, meeting close friends with whom I vibe, watching something good on many the streaming platforms. If all this is not enough, I love to spend time playing word games and of course, do some ‘farming’ on the Farmville app. What’s more, I can spend time doing nothing too, just sit staring at the trees and birds and the sky, provided the sky is not too bright.
Right about now, I am sure, someone or other is dying to ask, ‘But Shail, shouldn’t your post be about what bores you and not about how you are never bored?’And whoever that someone is who has the question trembling on their lips, they will be absolutely right too. What I was trying to do was merely lay the foundation to the fact that I am not an easily bored person.
Now that that’s settled, I’ll tell you what actually bores me.
Number one on my ‘what bores me’ list are those humans who monopolise conversations with their own tales, of grandeur or otherwise, the only exception being those who are funny, and succeed in making me laugh, in which case, all is forgiven. Then come people who are repetitive, saying the same things over and over again, who beat about the bush and are so slow and oh so predictable, that you can guess every word going to come out of their mouth days… sorry I meant minutes, before it actually does.
There are people who talk about celebrities and their affairs, what they did or did not do as if they have seen them at it first hand and they are the limit. Come on people, haven’t you heard about ‘publicity’? Interacting with people who have absolutely no interest in anything beyond their narrow lives is also boring in the extreme, and a strain on my nerves. Also when that lack of interest translates to dismissing summarily whatever contribution you make to the conversation, or worse, not even letting you get a word in edgewise, it becomes doubly boring.
So yeah, basically what I am saying is PEOPLE BORE ME WHEN THEY ARE NOT ON THE SAME WAVELENGTH as me, which translates to my being bored most of the time in company. Is it any wonder then that I have a blog and I pour my heart. out here? 😉

Seems to me you’re a creative person and will be bored by people who are not creative people haha 😄
Keep on creating💡🎶📝
When people say their lives are boring, I am amazed as I find so much to wonder at.
I am bored by the exact same things as you are.
I feel I am on your wavelength 🙂
And that’s when shail whips out her phone and gets lost in that world 🤓🤓🤓 Now I know!
Luckily, I get to avoid most people for most of the time so never have to suffer such boredom. Though it must be said, I’d love to have some down time in my life so I COULD get bored! There’s just never enough hours in the day…
