Somewhere in the middle of an all month long blog marathon, there comes a day when you go blank. What do I write about today, you wonder.
You want to write about this, that and something else too. But you reject them all as not being for that particular day. Reason, not really known.
So you sit twiddling your thumbs, your thoughts going hither, thither and everywhere else around looking for something that is more to your liking.
Don’t fuss too much, you tell yourself. But no, ‘you’ is in a mood to be downright fussy.
Psst! says a voice in the head. Write about that trip. You have been wanting to write about what happened, or rather what you said, and also share the beautiful photos of the sea.
Not today, I declare. Looks like I have the beginnings of a migraine and that means I will not do justice to the post. So the answer is ‘no’.
Well, you have been meaning to write about the Grand Canyon visit. And share those photos too. The voice is not about to give up.
I shake my head not accepting the suggestion. The reason I give is the same. I’ll be unable to do justice to the post.
Uff! You and your justice! The voice seems disgusted with me.
I can imagine the ‘eye-roll’ openly hidden in the voice’s response. I ignore it while simultaneously trying to find another more easier topic to write about. The beginnings of the migraine is not helping.
Share that picture of the bleeding hearts you took the other day. They look lovely, don’t they? The voice is back with another suggestion.
Hmm… I could do that, I suppose. It seemed doable to me. What I’d have liked though would have been to post it with a verse beneath it. But that wasn’t going to happen, not today. So should I or not? But then another idea hits me and I start writing.
See, I knew I could come up with something! I tell, smugly when I am done. The voice seems suitably impressed. It has not spoken once since I started writing. 😉

A wonderful description of the ADHD brain’s inner dialogue! I know this experience well…
You should have a name for this voice in your head.. Pretty cheeky one, this voice.
