Ahh! What had I done yesterday? Wondered whether I’d be able to pull off the August blogathon. And guess what happens today? I am sorely tested.

Till lunch time the day was as easy going as they come with no real pressure on my time. I went about doing random things in a leisurely fashion. ‘There was all the time in the world to write and post that blog. I shall do it in the early/late evening.’ Such naive thinking, right? Everything changed post lunch. There was an emergency chore to attend to. Since it was something I was excited about, I happily forwent my siesta to go take care of it.

All the time in the world still!‘ I thought when I got back for a late cup of tea. That was probably when Grandfather Time really doubled up with laughter, fell off the chair and hurt his bally head. Well, I hope he did hurt his head since I am annoyed with him for not giving me a heads up that time was at premium. On a different note, a thought has just popped into my head: Why is it Grandfather Time? Why hadn’t I thought of Time as a Grandmother? Time to introspect on that. Anyways….

So there I was, relaxing with my feet up, while the L&M made dinner – scrambled eggs and store bought rotis – when a medical emergency presented itself to a family member. A quick dinner later we hurried to the hospital. Thankfully, it was a case of ‘all’s well that ends well’ and we got home before midnight. The ratnachurukkam (That’s the Malayalam equivalent for ‘in a nutshell’) of it all is, here I am, once again writing too late into the night, like yesterday. But yeah, yeah, I have not given up, and that’s what matters.

I am, and probably will always be, a huge fan of Finish What You Start. That’s the reason I grabbed the mousepad in the picture above as soon as I set my eyes on it. One look and I said, ‘You, dear Mousepad, are coming home with me because you and I are, as the Indians would say, ‘same-to same!’ 😉
