The rains are here and the butterflies are back in force flitting from one flower to the next, as is their wont. The first to make an appearance were these beautiful Narrow-banded Bluebottles also called Southern Bluebottles. Till recently I had thought them to be Common Bluebottles, but a fellow butterfly enthusiast told me otherwise and I realized these were actually a sub-species, the Graphium teredon.
Aren’t they pretty? Their dance was mesmerizing!
