A quarter
and a quarter
do not make a whole
only a recipe, for a hole in your soul.
*
Quarters of self
cut and distributed for spreading joy
backfires
when four sets of teeth sink in, ‘Ouch!’
*
Precisely cut quarters, four
make a perfect whole
Either less or more
is a quarter, no more.
*
The welcomed quarter
housed in the warmth of your heart, rejoices
The rejected three-quarters
wanders the wilderness, bewildered.

arey what a unique take on the quarter ! We only have about a quarter (approximately) of the challenge which relieves me .
SIGH! 😦
Yes, Afshan that’s true, lol!
Amazing poem woven on quarters that warms the heart. I am already feeling the power of the beautiful lines, Shail:)
Thanks, Vishal 🙂
Brilliant verse, as always.
Each one so darned profound. I fell in love with the reality of the second one. And I too went ‘Ouch!’!!!
You have not just a quarter, two quarters or even three quarters….
Of my admiration.

Lovely Shail. I never knew that quatrains could be written this beautifully. It is like a tongue twister- a thought- a lesson, everything combined in just 4 lines. 🙂 I love second quatrain the most. It is amazing!
