When cynicism clouds vision
distorts contours of sincerity,
apparitions rise, of motives ulterior
tainting thoughts
Words acquire new connotations,
unintended hues….
From the quiver, arrows,
with poisoned tips
are drawn, let fly with precision
to reach marks unerringly
As the sarcastic barbs cut deep
the naive prey, writhes, in agony… .

@Renjith Sarada,
Lol, saramilla.
When we are in a sarcastic mood, we should never open our mouth…it might hurt us more later.
@Sandhya,
The harm to the other done too 🙂
Words and how you use them has Power…You have made it so evident in what the poem is saying and How the words are saying it.
Gorgeous Expression Shailji…I couldnt say it better.
@Rashmi,
Aww….. thank you 😀
Words can really hurt.
Wounds inflicted by weapons heal.
Wounds inflicted by sarcasm go deep and may never heal.
Good writing.

@G Vishwanath,

@blogjunta,
I am really overwhelmed by this. Thank you Karthik and thank you Blogjunta for conveying the news 🙂
Shail , what a brilliant mind Shail , To put in clear words all those thoughts 🙂
hmmm…. sarcasm is what creats all the problems. But the problem with sarcasm is you will be too tempted to hear it loud once it occurs in your mind 🙂
One another thought provoking poem . I haven’t forgotten the other one . “Do not wedge your silence with inanities ” 🙂 🙂
@Krishnaleela,
The occurring part is he problem I guess. Once it occurs in the mind most people do not hold it back from the victim and let them know promptly without thinking how much it might hurt. 😦
Oh you remember the other one too! 🙂
Yes we can use our speech to spread love around us as well as to hurt others! Nice poem
@sajeev kumar menon,
