Your palate tickled by spices
Found the dish too bland
With a dismissive gesture
You let the serving grow cold
Only the immediate mattered
And thus was a treasure lost…

what a novel way to use the 3 words !I hate it when people do this to something I cook 😦
@Ruchira Shukla,
I guess no one likes not being appreciated 🙂
More than just cooking here, well written!
@Deborah,
Thanks Deborah. You have a fine eye to spot the ‘more’ here! 😉

Nice one…just store the food for the next meal, for him!
The words were used very well and the message was not distorted…interesting!
@Sandhya,
I burst out laughing on reading your suggestion, ‘store the food for the next meal’!! Thank you. 🙂
Loved what you did with the three words!
@Smitha,
Thank you 🙂
I survive only on “home food”. So what is this “immediate” business about? Holy Moses!!!! is there Indian Home Food without spices? 🙂
@Sarath,
Who said I am talking of Indians??!! 😉 Just kidding. Errr… how about Khichdi?? Bland enough Indian food?? 😛
Khichhdi!!!!!!! You have a point there. I luvvvvvvv khichhdi. Can have it three times a day.
It’s always a pity when a treasure is unappreciated!
@faith,
Welcome to Shail’s Nest 🙂 Indeed its a pity, both the ‘treasure’ and the the non-appreciator lose out in the bargain!
Ah, the diappointment of doing something for someone and it not being received..nicely done..Jae
@Jae Rose,
Thank you 🙂
I like the More than the food idea here. Thought provoking use of the three words here Shailji.
@Rashmi,
Yeah, there is something more than food happening here! 😉 Thank you.
What a lovely take on the prompt.I missed it this week!
@Writerzblock,
Thanks Pal. See you on the next one! 🙂
There’s certainly something else simmering here.
@ThomG,
Yes, there definitely is 🙂
Treasure, this one too!
How often this happens when one is ready and waiting with an offering, perhaps a bit bland, in content, be it food or otherwise, and a little coldness creeps over the moment! I liked the stuff between the lines more than the lines itself, here :D!!!
@Usha,
Thanks Usha 🙂 Yeah its more about the stuff in between the lines 🙂
