“Here is a rainbow. For you!” he said.
She extended her hand to accept, her eyes shining with colors far brighter.
He quickly withdrew his hands making the colors vanish in a flash.
“The rainbow doesn’t belong to you alone…” he said laughing. “Fooled you!!”
“You didn’t have to….” she replied “I was born one.”

hmmm…
dont know what to say… 😐
Me: 🙂 Hi there Hitch.
Missed anything by just fractions? 😐 🙂
Wish I can philosophize you,
But you are way mature than me
Wish I can make you laugh,
But you are too far from me
Wish I can get you the rainbow
But it didnt belong to me……. too 😉
Keep smiling maam. And Yes interesting post-few lines-loads of meaning 🙂
Me: Wow thanks Aditya. That was a very heartfelt comment. 🙂
😦
Why is she so hurt?
Me: 🙂 She alone knows.
I feel her pain, but don’t understand the motivation of the guy who withdrew the offer.
I really liked the phrase, “She extended her hand to accept, her eyes shining with colors far brighter.” Wow–far brighter than the rainbow.
Once again, your writing has caught my attention.
Hope all is well.
Me: Thanks Bob. Motivations are mysterious things, not easily understood. 🙂 All’s well Bob, thank you.
A contented man we don’t have to feed
a bouquet of colours she does not need
for the the rainbows grow from her seed
and the loss has been only his indeed!
Prose or poetry? 🙂
Me: Yeah, my intial idea was to make it into a poem 🙂 but then I settled for prose.
I wish I knew the context. Nevertheless, the story was beautiful. That little ray of hope, tingling with excitement, and culminating in habitual disappointment…all that (and more) came out beautifully in your 55-er.
Me: You are the expert in the field of 55-ers Pal 🙂 Thank you!
I always dreamed that somebudy tell me :”here is a rainbow for you”
Me: And did someone tell you, Isabel?? 😉
BTW, I missed you!
I liked it. Simple conversations contain much too much within, like the colours of the rainbow, innit?
Me: Yes indeed. They contain too much for us to think about and analyze! 🙂
