I am on my way
through roads well traversed
To a destination I know
I have been there before…
Once again I start
or should I say restart…
It doesn’t really matter
I have been there before…
You promised me places
Never seen or ever dreamed
Where you send me now
I have been there before…
The familiar wayside scenes
The silence and the screams
Bring memories so clear
I have been there before…
No need to show the way
Just let your hand slip away
Don’t worry, I have walked this way
I have been there before…
– Shail Mohan (March 2009)
It’s the journey that calls to the heart isn’t it? Beautiful beautiful.. if at times poignant too!
The refrain haunts!
Me: Thanks Usha! 🙂
I’d rather just get drunk… 🙂
Brilliant poem!
Me: You have a point Nikhil! 😛
i think that is sad…
Me: A lot of things in life unfortunately are, Dhiren.
Lovely but haunting- seems more intense towards the end.
Me: May be an irrelevant question here. But, what is your sun sign Manju??
It is nothing new
that you are among a few
who can make a brew
on something as simple as deja vu.
Me:
Coffee I daily brew
For my Lord, its nothing new
I then take out seconds few
To write on something like deja vu
I know that’s a poor response. Its too late and I am all groggy. So thats the best I could come up with! 😛
Not sure why you want to go to a place where you have been before.
I suggest you go to a new place the next time 🙂
Cheers,
Sal
Me: Trust you to come up with something humorous Sal! 😛 Come to think of it, not a bad suggestion. Hmm…
Nice one…esp., the part on a promise not kept…
Me: Thanks Ganga. It is quite hard to keep your word. Or should I say people make rash promises that they don’t ever mean to keep, way too quickly?? Lol, that is a Neptunian speaking! 😉
Beautiful beautiful beautiful,Shail!Do I sense a tinge of pain here??
Me: Hmmm… those 3 ‘beautifuls’ have made my day Deeps! 😀 When you walk the way that you are familiar with there is always a tinge of pain, isn’t it?? 🙂 Well I am glad I could capture that.
🙂
Me: 🙂 Thanks Bindu.
This reminds of a song I had once heard, and then listened to, “Tum itna kyun muskara rahi ho, kya dard hai jise chhupa rahi ho…….or some words to this effect.
Me: That IS one lovely song. Thanks J P Joshi.
Cant decide what it is you are talking about here. The marriage daily chores where the female is blindly led by the male or something?
Me: Hmmm…. no. I won’t say more though 😛 I will leave it to your own imagination.
Nice-thought provoking!
Me: Thanks Nimo and welcome to my page. 🙂
