of dazzling smiles
of soulful music
pages of books
Within busy schedules
of daily chores
In the great outdoors
the mountains and valleys
sand and the sea.
– Shail (Nov 2008)
It is that feeling of being so very very out there, and yet inside, in that place where only pain, somehow, manages to visit, that comes through here! Very gently told, but sharp, all the same!
I like the way the metaphor builds up, through so many seemingly disparate bits of imagery! Lovely poem!
Thank you Usha!
Well, you pretty much nailed my last two years with this poem. Thank you Shail, It just won the place of honor in the center of the fridge door.
DeeAnne, glad you liked it.
Hiding hurts behind smiles
Fending queries with witty replies
Its an art we practise all the while
Its a truth that begins as a lie.
How much of truth in those lines Ritu!
Lovely poem, Shail. The hurts are always present though they cannot be allowed to be seen.
Yeah Manju, thanks.
Hiding hurts so much ….that everything one day is defined by just one word “hurt”
Yes you are right, Vivek.
I spot you
When you do hurt
A blog does blurt
Sometimes sharing chases away a blue!
Gulshan, your ready limericks always make me smile!
In the great indoors
in blogs and chats
in orkut and facebook
and unwritten words..
great work there..
Thanks Praveen. And your lines add to the above!
Ouch…that sure hurts
Beautiful thought and lovelier words
Ganga, thank you!
Loved it!So beautifully expressed Shail.
Thank you Preeti!
ok shail…at the risk of sounding daft, what exactly is it that one is hiding from?
Now you have me confused, Arch! Hiding from…??
or hiding what…?
Ahh ok this one I can answer. Hiding ‘hurts’!
