You killed me yesterday
when defenseless I lay
in your arms.
In love with you
longing for you
lost in the depths of your eyes
You killed me yesterday
when defenseless I lay
in your arms.
Your words
sharp as swords
sliced my heart neatly in two.
You killed me yesterday
when defenseless I lay
in your arms.
As I lay bleeding
life ebbing
you said you loved me still.
You killed me yesterday
when defenseless I lay
in your arms.
For the simple mistake
that I was no fake
just too sincere and naïve
You killed me yesterday
when defenseless I lay
in your arms.
The die was cast
and I breathed my last
but do you know I am no more?
You killed me yesterday
when defenseless I lay
in your arms.
Have you noticed yet
I am gone… though with regret
loving you still with my last breath.

Hello Shail! It’s been a long time since last I visited here but this one’s got my attention. I love poems. I used to write some. Yet, this one’s you made really reflected to what happened to me recently. Not that literally taken but impliedly, it is. As if this is myself. Hope you don’t mind if I made a copy of this. Thank you so much for this poem. (((hugs)))
LOVED it Shail..very poignant,Very moving.
Cheers

Richette, thank you. You can use the poem, with due credit of course! 😉 🙂
Preeti, thanks for dropping in and the appreciation.
I cannot read your “love” poems and stories without taking my heart medicine first and laying down on a pillow on the floor so that if I swoon I will not fall and hurt my older self. 🙂
Excellent…
Oooops Bob! Better have that pillow ready on the floor before you venture on to my poetry/story blogs!! 😛
Sounds like living dead…..which is worst than death….
Premjyothi, you have a point.
