While I weep…

I dug holes in the backyard

buried tiny chunks of me

and

over them planted shrubs

for you to see

Some parts are now missing

I am not whole

but

you would never know

of the hollow

for

the green leaves

the pretty flowers

will hold you in their spell

while I weep…

  1. Beautiful poetry! The expression is very powerful. Our eyes generally don’t go further than the leaves and flowers. Loved these lines.

Me: Thanks Basanta for the lovely words of praise. Yes, sometimes we fail to see beyond the obvious. :)

  7. Can I look at this way ..a part of us that loves someone is buried deep down …but the beauty of that pure love is shown to all…….but then we weep dep within us ….

Me: Mythi, each one has a different perception. Thanks for expressing yours here. :)

  8. Beautiful ! dont know how you people can write poetry so easily.

Life is such everybody sees the upper layer only, nobody knows about the sorrows buried deep within.

Me: Yeah true for a lot of people I guess. Thanks Renu :)

  10. The pain behind beauty, eh? Really beautiful words. I agree with Renu. While I enjoy poetry, it beats me how to go about writing poetry so effortlessly!

Me: Thanks Dreamer. Well, to tell you the truth some time back I thought the same too, and still do when I read others and also those lulls between the poems I come up with!! ;) :P
