These are the first four comments from four different friends on a picture (of myself) that I had posted on Facebook some time back:
“I think that is the best yet! Surely the essential Shail?”
“Romantic!”
“A benign Durga Mata? Just saying — since it’s the season.”
“You look scary in this.”
This made me think. Same picture, but varied views. Perceptions differ greatly, and do not depend on the subject, but exclusively on the viewers. At least, that is MY conclusion.
What do you think? Have you had similar experiences?

Yep. As Pixie wrote, our preconceived notions or where we are coming from and the baggage we are carrying at that moment. depends on all of that.

I agree. Think perceptions arise from the fact that people have walked through different paths of life and have had different experiences, thus formulating their viewpoints.

Absolutely. Especially noticing how I view a picture vs. how other people are viewing the same picture. Or even moreso, words.
