“Criminalizing marital rape is a no brainer. There’s no need for even the phrase “marital rape” to exist. We don’t have “marital murder” after all. It’s just murder. The relationship of the victim to the perpetrator is completely irrelevant. Son, daughter, husband, wife…these are all irrelevant. And yet…so many people seem to be against the very concept that a man can rape his wife. Even the government doesn’t think so. They think it’s not “genuine” rape. Why not? The definition of rape is “sex without consent”. How does the marital status enter the equation? (More…..)

The comments under that post, are from people who are living some 1000 years back in time. Shitty comments like –
“unfortunately people like you who will go on hampering the Indian Societal and Family structure at large” or how this has been happening since 1k years, or how marriage is a contract for sex and kids.
We are living in the 21st century, we need to change people and not be stuck in the past. Consent always needs to be taken everytime for sexual activities be it the man or woman. But why can’t people get this?!!! If that is Indian Societal structure and we’re hampering it, well and good, we should be trying to take down such shitty rules and mindset. We need to go forward not backwards.
