Sundays are the days that are slightly different than the rest of the days of the week. The day starts off with a morning walk as usual. After breakfast comes my keyboard class. By the way, right now I am playing Do re mi pa. I’ll modify that: I am still learning to play.
That reminds me, the highlight of yesterday, the third day at the Festival of Letters I wrote about yesterday (MBIFL 2025), was meeting my teacher. I have only seen her on the screen so far. Since both of us were in attendance at the Kankakkunnu Palace grounds, where the event is happening, we could meet in person and the face-to-face was a pleasure.
Getting back to Sundays, the comparatively busy days.
On other days of the week, I have someone to help me out with cooking. On Sundays though it is only me. So that is when I try out something new or make a dish I haven’t in a long time. By the time I am done my back protests in no uncertain terms. It is the standing and bending forward to cut and chop and stir of it.
I read somewhere that the kitchen slab height should be in accordance with the height of a person. I guess this one is not. Just in case it was so, then probably the house help (who does most of the cooking on all other days) would have a tough time, she being taller than me.
Most days, when I am done cooking and simply HAVE TO lie down and rest my back, I inform the L&M and he moves in to tidy up, wipe the kitchen counter et al.
The rest of the day is akin to the rest of the week days. Lunch, television, books, dinner, evening walk, keyboard practice and so on.
But
This Sunday is different. It is the last day of the event happening in our city. I am all set to make the most out of the day. It goes without saying that I have been frequenting the book shop each and every day.
Here are some pictures from the previous days.

And as I mentioned earlier, the caricature. No prizes for guessing which one is me 😉
