It’s been a long time, at least it seems so. Getting back on here feels a bit surreal, compounded by the fact that I am now miles away from the place I call home, and my days have suddenly turned to nights and nights to days, not to mention that I am now one day behind (or is it half a day?!) in my life. To be fair I have done all this more than once already, but still one is getting on in years and finds it all a bit disconcerting…

Oh, who am I kidding!

I am thoroughly enjoying myself, so much so that I left my blog in the lurch the last two weeks. There, the truth is out. It’s not as if I can even use jet lag as an excuse as I didn’t have any, I simply sailed through to the join the new time zone like a long-lost friend as soon as I landed in the Land of the Free. Hmm.. I wonder if the feat can be replicated when I return? The chances are moot considering that I will have to go through a sleepless sixteen hours after my arrival in India before hitting my usual bedtime. Anyway, that’s still two weeks away and I’ll worry about it when the time comes.

So where was I?

Ahh, how I had beaten the jet lag. What was I doing the past couple of weeks having done that? That is apart from spending time with the First Born. Plenty my dears, plenty. And if you think I wasn’t doing any writing, you’d be wrong. Once a writer always a writer. Scratch that, because some people might take objection to my calling myself a writer. So, once a scribbler, always a scribbler. I have done both the BlankSpace Writer’s Community’s prompts from the previous weekends from over here. One day late, but what of that? What’s unpardonable though is that I failed to post them at the Nest. How remiss of me! (Brace yourself. They will be up in the following days.)

The rest of my time here in this, the land of the free, is divided between long walks both morning and evening, painting and drawing and binge-watching some shows that interest me. Then there is the time I spend seated in the park, reading, an activity I simply love, and something I can never hope to do back home. Oh, I forgot, I also unobtrusively and shamelessly ogle all the four-legged fur babies out walking their owners. The labradoodles, labradors, golden retrievers, huskies, terriers, samoyeds, shibu inus, shitzus, danes, poodles, border collies, the mixed breeds…

So now you all know where I am and that I am well, alive and kicking. I will go ahead and share a few pictures to show I speak the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. 😉
