Oxygen and moisture
Plotted and planned
On iron railings
Mounted joint attack
Hardy iron, exposed
Caved in, beginning to corrode
For lack of a coat of paint,
Forced into an oxide
Reddish-brown and flaky
Disdainfully called rusty
Bit by bit falling apart
Till all connections lost.

Jagged edges tell their own story
Of being worn out and oh-so-weary
Stark in black and white
But the top still holds tight
Who knows! That may be The Gate to Heavens Pearly!
😀
And so with life, not painted appropriately with love and laughte 🙂 Not to mention trust 🙂 🙂
Beautiful. The photograph. The verse 🙂
That was the last four lines, but I thought leaving it unsaid was better, so left it out 🙂
Thank you, Usha 🙂
Some science gyaan to gloat
Of oxides and no paint to coat
Has Bill Bryson spread his magic
Of seeing things with science-y logic
While all I want is to limerick-gloat !!
What do you say Gulshan ?? 😀
Omg. The limerick bug has bitten you, Uma! clap clap 😀
Takes a bow
You are free to glimeroat
Whatever makes your boat float
Logic not needed
Only idea seeded
And yes, Uma, you definitely get my vote!
beautifully written. such lucid dreaming!
Thank you 🙂
