Today is a new beginning for the Second Born. First day at his first job. His Mom had plans of writing a proper blog, but with no power and no internet connection, she is left tapping one out on her smart phone. Wait a minute. Whaddya mean ‘smart’ phone? Smart Mom is more like it, especially when she is the one who has to tap out a post on said phone. Anyways…..
New city, new job, new friends, new apartment, a whole new life….. Wish you all the best son! May you kick off to a great start and carry on at your own pace.
OMG! We did it. We finally kicked out both the baby birds from the nest. We are now officially Two Old Fogies. 😐

I reached this stage in 2007
My daughter left us after getting married in 2001
The son left us for higher studies abroad in 2007.
Better phone communication, emails, yahoo messenger, Skype and video chats and the new smart phones have all ensured that we don’t feel their absence too much.
Enjoy your new status.
For me it is now like the first few years after marriage but with more money to spend and less ambitions and responsibilities.
All I pray for now is reasonably good health to enjoy my retired status.

Technically, we reached the stage in 2008 when he left for Bangalore to study. But now he is standing on his own feet, so that makes a difference 🙂 Indeed the better communication facilities now makes it easier to keep in touch on a daily basis.
With this stage, my frequent visits to your city is now.officially over too.
