If there were a biography about you, what would the title be?

Duh! This is an easy one. Unlike the tie I spend on coming up titles for my stories or even for my blogs, I don’t have to think twice about this one.

Or do I?

Hmm…

‘Irreverent Shail’. Or just plain ‘Irreverent’. What could be a better title for the biography of a person who questions everything?

I cannot imagine how people can swallow everything they are fed, even the most obvious bulsh*t, without ever questioning it. Maybe you don’t want to question things outright for fear of repercussions. I understand that, I empathise with that too. I have worn that shoe, in fact I am still wearing that shoe considering the scenario of the present.

But

How can you not have any questions in your mind? How can you accept things at face value? How can you believe the lies being peddled? Won’t some question wiggle pout of your placid all-accepting mind and force you to use that one brain cell still in working condition?

Apparently not. That’s where my name for myself, and consequently for my biography comes in. Sometimes I am not able to ask the questions outright for fear of retaliation, or mostly towards just to keep peace among family and friends. But I definitely express my views most times and stand by it too. At other times I ask them on my blog or in my head.

Never, NEVER will I accept anything blindly. I don’t care if the whole world thinks it is the right way. I don’t care if something has been followed by my ancestors for centuries. I don’t care people in power and authority have said so. I don’t care the supposedly ‘respectable’ people think so.

I don’t believe anything is sacred. Not religion. Any religion. Not the books. Any book. Everything needs to be questioned and verified to our satisfaction. In the present world that’s considered ‘irreverent’. So yeah, that’s going to be the title of my biography if I ever write one.

But

There’s another title that’s competing with this one in my mind. And no it has nothing to do with my irreverence to traditions, authority, religion, whatever… It’s to do with Luci. I am her minion, or was, when she was with me. I’d like nothing better than my biography to be titled ‘Luci’s Minion’!

Or perhaps I can combine both and make it ‘The Irreverent Minion’. Yup, I think that’s perfect.
