I wonder… Did I tell you about the time I went to the weekend dog park in the Cubbon Park at Bengaluru? That was my daughter in law’s idea. She knows how much I love dogs in general and miss Luci in particular. So off we went on a Sunday.
She’d heard of the weekend park, but didn’t know exactly which part of the huge and spreading park hosted (Oh, how I loved the trees and the tree-lined pathways!) the dogs. But then Mother Google is always there to help us reach our destination. So soon enough we did.
There were big dogs, there were small dogs. There were long haired dogs, there were those with short hair, there were friendly dogs, there were shy dogs, there were black dogs, there were white dogs, also chocolate coloured, and ones with more than a single colour. There were retriever, Danes, samoyeds, terriers, mixed breed, indies. In short there were all kinds of dogs and their humans, plus dog-watchers like me.
It was dog heaven.
One could tell the dogs were in high spirits. Running here and there, pausing to sniff interesting smells, greeting their friends and playing chase with them, running after a ball, pausing to drink water from the bowls their humans had ready… One of the dogs was insistent in declaring his love to another. But the lady wasn’t interested and snapped at him to keep off. The smaller dogs had the swagger, the bigger dogs the dignity. Some of the bigger ones seemed in awe of the smaller ones.
It was fun.
I clicked away, but couldn’t get them all. But soon it was time for us to leave since we had other commitments. So it was goodbye to the four-legged friends. Till the next time I am there. You bet I’d be visiting again! In the meantime, here are some pictures from my previous visit:

Oh how WONDERFUL! ❤
I am jealous of the GSD owner who has a furrybaby capable of playing with others. Ours, alas, is terrified of all and goes into bark and bite first, ask questions (much) later mode. Sigh…no dog parks for us… 😦
Oh! Is that so? My Simi (of whom you read recently) was scared of everything. But she unashamedly bossed over our other dog, a spitz male. She just had to give him the eye and he disappeared from the scene, especially when she was pregnant and when food was involved. But at other times, he took advantage of her maternal instincts and got her to groom him by plonking in front of her. And she obliged too! Hmm.. I need to write more about these two. 😀
I think you definitely must write more about them!
I will 🙂
What a delightful place. Lovely way to get your doggie fix.
Yes, indeed 😀
I can imagine dog parks being heaven for people too, by just spending time with their dogs at the park, meeting new people and their dogs as well.
It’s funny you posted this and mentioned Luci. Just to let you know, I just came back from visiting my brother, who has a yellow lab as well and briefly thought of her for some reason, as she and my brother’s dog are the same breed.
Good to hear about the yellow lab 🙂 And that you thought of Luci!
Such a beautiful way to write!
Thank you for stopping by 🙂
Heaven, indeed!
We think open similar lines! 🙂
