You shuffle your feet
I do mine
Around the ring
we move and swing
this way and that
in a wary dance
forward and backward
left and right
the steps never in unison
it is no delusion
You advance I withdraw
when you retreat, I press on
Enough of pandering
no one is winning
Puncture the egos
let us call it quits
you are weary
so am I
– Shail Mohan (Nov 2010)
The words this week: shuffle, pander, advance

Isn’t life a waltz?
step by step of playing false
of assaults and counter assaults
that soon we need smelling salts.
Excellent.
*panting* Shail go easy on the blogging. Can’t catch up with you on the comments? π
Shail said:
@Govind,
Just a couple of them more… then I am going to vanish π
Usha said:
@Govind,
Sigh! Very true on the pace that Shail keeps
That I simply cannot catch up, my heart weeps π
So I rush over, though my work beeps
Coz this space, the stuff here? For keeps π π
This is one Bad rhyme, but, good feeling on Shail’s poem as usual…
And your comment’s tops too!

Very true….I really wish for punctured egos to sustain relationships…which is becoming so difficult with the newly married ones…

Profoundly Observed Dance, Shailji. I feel, we all dance until we either get weary or decide to stand our ground. I enjoyed the rhythm and flow of this writing. Creative use of the three words.:)
Shail said:

Oh that’s what we do. dance the same steps .the dynamic relationship has repetetive dance steps and we give in only when weary .
Shail said:
@kirti,
“Dynamic relationship, repetitive dance steps” How right! π
Usha said:
The dance of life, so untutored, so out of sync sometimes, that unless the egos take a back seat, there is will be no joy only exhaustion, from keeping up and pushing and retreating.
How eloquently and beautifully you capture all of that, the angst, the game, the totally not there feeling!
Blown away …. as usual π
Shail said:
@Usha,
Thank you so much Usha. You have put it rather well π
