The worst of summer seems to be behind us now, though not for the rest of India. That doesn’t mean we aren’t getting stewed well and proper still, but to a lesser degree. The recent thunderstorms have done their bit. Though they are welcome, the fear always exists of losing internet connection and power, what with trees (and posts) falling everywhere and cables snapping. The last time we had a twenty-four hours blackout. Imagine that. No fans whirring away, ineffectual as they are in stopping the perspiration dripping off you.

Three more weeks and the monsoons should arrive in style (if they are on schedule). I can’t wait! The birds and butterflies seem to know about it already because I am beginning to see more of them around… which is why I have a silly, happy grin plastered on my face. Though I don’t have a picture of said face (and who’d want to see it anyway?), I have above a few other pictures I clicked after the welcome showers. This should hold up the blog till I get back from some gallivanting. 😉

Such different weather. Our summer hasn’t really started yet (I’m writing this in a sweater and heavy pants). It won’t get really hot here until June or July.
It’s the same in Northern India. June and July are hot.

Indeed it is. The green color one sees is something else after the rains.
Such beautiful clicks! Kerala monsoon is heavenly. Every year when school reopens on the 1st of June, we kids used to get drenched in the rain. Memories..
That still happens. Rain and school reopening coincide still 🙂
Every time I see your pictures of the grey skies on fb, I see a ray of hope for us in Mumbai and other parts of our country. The monsoon is fast approaching and soon this hot hell that we are getting roasted in will be a thing of the past, is what I keep saying to myself! 😀
However, I cross my fingers and hope that the internet doesn’t go for a toss! it’s what happened last week when we were hit by a storm of some sort for a mere 30 minutes. The wifi went kaput and the post I had in mind had to be forgotten about! Wonder what will happen when the monsoon arrives in full force!
