What it’s all about: Five Sentence Fiction is about packing a powerful punch in a tiny fist, that is, in exactly five sentences.
The scraggly plant I brought home and tended to, the one with dark purple blooms and pale yellow curly stamens, has grown taller than me. There’s this new singer I chanced upon while surfing the net on whom I have a massive crush, and I listen to his songs day and night. The new dish I tried my hand at turned out to be a disaster and had to be hastily confined to the dustbin before anyone else caught a whiff of it. When I finally finished the book I had almost given up on as a lost cause, I shed a few quiet tears because it was over and I felt I would never again find another as good as it…..
So many things I have been tucking away into the recesses of my mind, to tell you when you and I get together some day, will now remain unspoken, forever. Your barriers are up, and I have no strength left to claw through the reinforced cement and reach you.

Simple, little every-day things
The sharing of which much joy brings
Will remain unsaid
Because one’s dead
Through coffin and vault, no one pings!
Well done, Gul 🙂
Generally micro fictions are supposed to startle you by their last-sentence impact. But I like yours which has a sedate quality and yet expresses it all in limited length.
Yup, this is not much of a shocker. Thank you 🙂
Beautifully done and expressed. The simple things in life makes for a great story:)
Thank you, Vishal 🙂
Have you any information on Five Sentence Fiction or who is running the meme, now? Thank you!
No one as far as I know. That’s why I haven’t used the badge. 🙂

Thank you 🙂
