What it’s all about: Five Sentence Fiction is about packing a powerful punch in a tiny fist. Each week Lillie Mcferrin posts a one word inspiration, then anyone wishing to participate will write a five sentence story based on the prompt word. This week’s word: SCORCHING
He stared with sadness and longing, as he had a million times already, at the still standing blackened walls of the house in ruins, wishing for a yesterday that was cut short abruptly by treachery and deception.
The passage of time had not let him forget the excruciating pain from the scorching flames that consumed him and her, forcing them apart on unknown paths.
Ever since, he had been back every single day, hoping she’d find her way back too, and be reunited once again.
Today, with rising elation he saw in the pale light of dawn, she like him all these past days, was standing staring sorrowfully at what was left of their former home.
About time, he thought to himself as he moved towards her, a millennium had passed already.

They had been standing right there all the while, eh.
May be they came at different times 🙂
