What it’s all about: Five Sentence Fiction is about packing a powerful punch in a tiny fist. Each week Lillie Mcferrin posts a one word inspiration, then anyone wishing to participate will write a five sentence story based on the prompt word. This week’s word: STEAM.
Steam was still rising from the dish as she set it down on the table, just the way he liked it.
“Dinner’s ready!” she sang out.
There was no answer, no sound of approaching footfalls.
She found him in the balcony, his back to her, busy on the phone.
The steamy conversation she overheard made the dish on the table seem cold in comparison.
