What it’s all about: Five Sentence Fiction is about packing a powerful punch in a tiny fist. Each week Lillie McFerrin posts a one word inspiration, then anyone wishing to participate can write a five sentence story based on the prompt word. The word does not have to appear in the five sentences, and is just for direction. This week: FLIGHT
I watched his retreating back, knowing with sudden clarity that I would never see him again.
This had been the final goodbye, though he did not know it yet for the simple reason that I hadn’t told him.
Over the weekend I had watched him, how happy he was with his life, family and friends.
I was the ‘extra,’ the odd one out who didn’t fit anywhere, and one that he did not need sticking out in his otherwise ‘complete’ life.
So I took that flight I had vowed never ever to take.

The finality is so “final”
It must have been one tough decision to take…felt very sad.
Decisions are always tough.
Why does life throw such situations where we have to take such hard decisions? Someone did take the flight and it pains because they didn’t know how important their presence was.
If they don’t value you, there is no option but flight.
