What it’s all about: Five Sentence Fiction is about packing a powerful punch in a tiny fist. Each week Lillie McFerrin posts a one word inspiration, then anyone wishing to participate can write a five sentence story based on the prompt word. The word does not have to appear in the five sentences, and is just for direction. This week: WHEELS
Life has no reverse gear, the wheels move only one way, always forward.
There is no going back to set things right or perhaps choose a different route to travel.
So I knew there was no choosing not to be stupid enough to take the shorter route home through the one-way from its wrong end that night.
There was no way of waking up my wife and daughter from the unfathomably deep sleep they had fallen into, right in the middle of the tarred road.
Hence I hobbled along the only way I could, forward, and off the cliff.

Like they say, you can never go back and change things. There is no option but to move forward.
Yes, indeed.
By the way, I will get to your other comments on my earlier posts, soon. I am traveling now. 🙂
Hehe, even though it’s years late and I just discovered your blog not too long ago (though I know I’ve seen you write on other ppl’s blog), couldn’t help it since I can relate in a certain way and had to share 🙂
Ohhh! dark, but I liked the metaphor in the story.
