She put her nose to the freshly dug ground sniffing hard. The whiff seemed strongest just there. She dug with renewed energy, sending dirt flying in all directions. Some of it hit Mom who was putting the clothes out to dry. Mom yelled at her, Stop! What do you think you are doing, spraying me with dirt?!
She wasn’t listening. She was too close to heed any admonitions. One final scoop and there it was, just where she had buried it last week. Triumphantly she walked back with the smelly bone in her mouth. She had found her lost treasure.
