Can you imagine, forgetting to switch on the indicator light in a car making a turn is because the children in the back-seat made a racket! Lol, it is too funny! I cannot even think of giving such a lame excuse if I find myself in the same situation.

It is the pervertion in the minds of both the eve teasers and the moral police men. I just don’t understand that how some one wearing a pair of jeans is considered vulgar or revealing. May be that it is a western attire. A woman reveals much more while wearing a saree or a ghagra choli than the one wearing jeans and T shirt. But that does not mean that the men are at liberty to pounce on a woman revealing even an inch of her skin. The solution lies in catching and punishing the culprits and not passing strictures on the victims.

I totally agree banning wearing jeans will not solve anything. The problem lies much deeper than that.Its in the mindset of people and that thought process needs to change and get broader.Its the filth that breeds in the minds of people that need to be banned and plucked out.

Me; Rather ‘Jai ho’ to whatever one wants to wear Deeps At the moment jeans seems to be at the receiving end. Actually this whole thing mystifies me. In the 70s, I wore trousers to college with tops shorter than what girls are being asked to wear today. That’s more than 30 years back. And there was no hue and cry the way there is nowadays.
You are right, It is the mindset and one despairs wondering when THAT will change!!

My first ‘experience’ of eve teasing happened when I was a kid too so no the dress has nothing to do with it..

there are pervs who will find ANY excuse to do what they want..
this BS regarding dress is crap!

What less ( not else) I can expect from you on this post. Inspite of so much talks on ban jeans or salwar etc, we could see the salwar and churidhars made their way even in village of south india.Its good.

One always likes to do the right thing and share knowledge gained and all that you know. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Me: That the salwars and churidars have been accepted grudgingly is in itself something to rejoice about. Life for women isn’t the same as before. Why is it expected that we roam around wearing five and a half metres of cloth?? This insistence on sari coming from men is indeed rich, especially since all of them have conveniently switched to Western wear!!

when a group of women were groped in mangalore.One of the spokesman of the monkey brigade had the cheek to comment that the women were skimmpily dressed and that provoked the men to do what they did.The fault lies not in the hemlines of women but in their(men) minds.

Me; Indeed the fault wholly lies in thei(men) minds and not in the hemlines of women! Rightly said Gazal. I always wonder why robbers are arrested. Aren’t they tempted by the display of riches in the houses of the well off?? Why do we teach children to curb their temptation and not allow them to take their pick from the toys that tempt them in the toy shop?? Only when it somes to these degenerates who grope women on the streets, the blame is on the victim and the way she is dressed! I bet none of them will even bother to get a pair of decent dress for those who roam half naked due to poverty. Instead they gang up to teach skimpily clad women a lesson!
