Your eyes… and other quatrains.
Fly me to the moon…
Take my hand, fly me to the moon
Sitting on the edge of moon craters
We shall savor strawberry ice cream
For you I shall wear my gown of moonbeams.
Our names
I write your name on the sand along with mine
The waves rush in and thoughtlessly erase
Maybe the sea knows like us that ‘we’ can never be
Hence sends in the waves promptly.
All wrong
Our meeting is all wrong
You wanted someone along
Your spare time to kill
I don’t fit the bill.
Pretence
Don’t try to wake me in the morning
I am only pretending to sleep
As I snuggle closer to you
Don’t let the alarm beep.
Retreat
I am not hungry, I don’t want to eat
Let me cry some more in my defeat
From life, love and most of all you
I want forever to retreat.
New lesions
You lay me beneath the stars
And with your kisses wipe away the scars
Will the morrow bring new lesions
To replace these old ones??
Terrified
Why did you invite me into your lair
Bind me with silken threads of love??
I am mortally terrified of spiders
But love terrifies me even more.
Your eyes (1)
Don’t hide your eyes behind dark glasses
Though they be in style
They don’t let me see the creases
When you look at me and smile.
Your eyes (2)
Let me kiss your eyes
and close them for a while
They hold me in a spell
My feelings I cannot quell
Your eyes (3)
Don’t you know I cannot swim
I flounder helplessly in the depth of your eyes
And yet do not take your eyes off me my love
Let me drown and just die in the pools of your eyes

Delightful, simply delightful!
I am not sure which I like the most; so I shall not let myself choose
Each of them is special, and so evocative!
The imagery and the exquisite beauty of the dress of moonbeams in the first one
Then, Your Eyes .. oh my, oh my! they really enchant!!
The hint of poignancy and the latent pain in Our Names, and Lesions, hold stories in themselves!
Loved this post!

Lovely stuff, soft and emotional. I try but cant do mush – so I settle for the funnies instead

Thank you PRG. No I haven’t. Though people, starting from my elder son, have been asking me to since some time, only when these quatrains came about has the thought entered my head. *still thinking about it*
