Hey, the dark side of cell phones, no? My “Samsung” cellphone neither welcomes or bids me goodbye anywhere. No advertisements. No calls from girlfriends. Time feature does not require pushing a button. I can play games on it if I understood the rules. I can figure out the “correct” tip while dining out. I can time events and set alarms.

I think I can text message, I think.

But I am not mobile and must report to desktop for Internet connection. One recent trip for post-op eye surgery check, Darren, Jimi’s father, our middle son, my chauffeur on that particular trip brought his Dell laptop in case we wanted to check our e-mail. We hooked up to Hotel wireless.

While he slept, I tried to open his e-mail to catch a glimpse of how different the life of a 25-year old man might be compared to, let’s say, an older fella.

The Nokia sounds like a puppy trying to be dominant in your cell/cell user relationship.

Good job in writing. When using recently operated eye, I experienced clarity not found in the other eyeball. :O)

Good one again Shaila. I remember once I entered Mumbai and was welcomed by three networks and every other minute they were asking me to subscribe to one service or another. Finally I just stopped looking at the messages and missed an important one from my girl friend.

Me: Hmmm… I don’t believe one bit of this story. More likely the network messages got lost among the messages from your girlfriend-s. Plural my dear friend, don’t use the singular! …….And don’t you dare bung bricks, that act is copyrighted.

Nice one! You tell me … it used to be Airtel welcomes you to Delhi, To Gurgaon, to Noida every single day – and these darn cities are rt next to each other and we keep crossing the city lines daily. Thankfully now they have put the sock in it ~~~~ or have they?

ROFL ….. It’s the weirdest thing ain’t it? When the cell phone keeps ringing all the time we curse and swear at it but the minute it decides to step out of it’s coverage area we anxiously await it’s return to “civilization”.

Btw, I thought I was the only one who told folks to put a sock in it . Comes into use esp when the kiddos are squawking and squeaking at each other

Me: How true! BTW, I guess us Wodehouse fans use such phrases as ‘put a sock in it’!! Yeah loved the watch at first sight. I must give where credit is due, it was chosen by the Rolypoly BIL.

An hour later as I leave home…

This happens every day…I have to use the landline at home because my mobile calls get routed through Axis Indonesia…
